I have just added another category to my blog called Beauty Icons. I will post profiles of beautiful women who have had an influence in the fashion industry and are considered to be icons. The first one is Brooke Shields.
She uttered some of the most memorable screen lines of all time—they just happened to be in a denim commercial. “You want to know what comes between me and my Calvins?” a 15-year-old Brooke Shields famously asked America in that 1980 Calvin Klein jeans ad. The answer, of course: “Nothing.” By then, the teenage actress was no stranger to risqué roles, having bared all as a nubile lover in the cult classic The Blue Lagoon and, before that, as the daughter of a brothel-dwelling Susan Sarandon in Pretty Baby. The graceful transition from child star to working adult actress that followed (OK, she did date Michael Jackson for a few embarrassing moments) is one not many young celebrities have pulled off—Hayden Panettiere et al. could do worse than look to her example. It helps, of course, that in addition to being six feet tall, with a mile-wide smile, enviable glossy mane, and eyebrows to remember, she’s got the comic timing of a pro. When Shields’ latest project, Candace Bushnell’s Lipstick Jungle, debuts in Feburary on NBC, Sex and the City fans will have a new weekly ritual. Time’s “Face of the ’80s” is no one-decade wonder.

What was she doing there at the CFDA awards? She looks like a pornstar in that trashy Marc Jacobs dress. And sweetheart that weave looks just soooo cheap. Give up!

*Spoiler Alert: If you haven’t seen Sex and The City yet and are planning to see it, it is advisable not to read on*
As the opening scene started all the memories of the Fab Four came back rolling in, with a recap of all that has happened up until now i got more and more excited. The whole story was very moving and relatable. The movie is about friendship, love, relationships, forgiveness and off course sex. The fact that Mr. Big let Carrie down once again, after the 10 years that they have been on and off and the whole movie was revolved around that i thought that they could’ve developed the story a lot better. The story line was a bit too predictable and it couldn’t have been tackier with them getting married at the end. I don’t like the fact that Samantha breaks up with Smith over nothing. Well she used the “I love you, but I love me more” excuse which was so lame since she already used it with that Richard guy (Remember???). Miranda…hmm…once again just like Carrie, why did it have to have such a predictable, poetic ending? And as for Charlotte, she was adorable. Don’t you just love that they drink Vitamin water and Carrie’s assistant borrowed her bag from that phenomenon of a website (bagborroworsteal.com). It just makes them a lot more real. Anyway all in all it was a good movie, everything the fans have been waiting for. I just hope there’s a sequel.
